Artist Statement for Cocoon :

I worked from home during the pandemic, hundreds of hours hand quilting 5 slippery sheets of silk together. 

Holding myself together. 

The 5 silk panels were used in a previous exhibit at Loveland’s Museum, as an installation with video.  Remaking them into “Cocoon”, 

Remaking, rearranging my life,

becoming a metaphor for the lonely transformation happening to my art, my world, myself.

At the time of this writing, still in the “mush” stage of metamorphosis, the future is as yet undetermined.
